Based in North Baddesley, Baddesley Park Football Club was established in 1998. The first team was formed by Colin Jowett, a north Baddesley resident, whose son Joe wanted to play football for a local team. For a couple of seasons Colin’s lads played unaffiliated 11-a-side football and the club operated as a one team outfit. In the summer of 2000, Craig Brooks and John Robinson, who had been training a number of younger boys from the village, approached Colin to find out if they could form a second Baddesley Park team. By this time, more and more boys were turning up at North Baddesley Recreation Ground on a Saturday morning to join in training sessions, run by enthusiastic volunteers, usually dads! By the end of 2000 Colin was chairman and secretary of rapidly expanding venture, as well as a team manager, and it was agreed that a committee should be formed to help ease the burden and move the club forward. The first committee consisting of Adrian Tull (Chairman), Sharon Whitehouse (Secretary) and Trevor Luckman (Treasurer) were appointed in the spring of 2001, when the club officially affiliated to the Hampshire F.A. In 2001/2002 Baddesley Park started its first affiliated season with Colin’s team playing in the Tyro league at u12s. Craig Brooks managed the u10s and Craig Whitehouse ran the u8s team, both playing in the Eastleigh and District Mini Soccer League. Support from enthusiastic parents and volunteers has enabled the club to expand rapidly. We have around 200 registered players representing the club across age groups ranging from u8 to u16. We have teams playing every Sunday, in the local mini soccer league and in the Tyro League. In addition, the club offers an opportunity for children aged 4 upwards to learn basic football skills. Today an equally enthusiastic bunch of volunteers manage teams and the club. Details of individual teams, managers and coaches can be found on our team pages. Details of our Management Committee can be found on our Committee page.

Warsash is a village in southern Hampshire, situated at the mouth of the River Hamble, between Southampton and Portsmouth. Warsash has a strong sporting tradition, and of football in particular. Warsash Wasps Sports and Football was formed in 1977 to provide local children with a football team that would help them develop their football ability fully. Today, that small club has grown into one of the largest of its type in Hampshire. Warsash Wasps SFC now has upwards of 350 players from age 5 to U18, fielding 17 Mini Soccer teams, and 10 11-a-side teams, including a growing number of successful girls teams. The Club competes in five different Leagues: Mid-Solent FL and Hampshire Girls FL on Saturdays, and Eastleigh & District Mini Soccer League, City of Southampton Youth FL and Southampton Tyro League on Sundays. In addition, Warsash Wasps has developed its own ground at New Road in Warsash. The New Road complex now comprises a large floodlit all-weather 3G pitch, an 11-a-side grass pitch, an indoor sports hall with changing rooms, refreshments shop, and committee room, together with an additional, separate changing facility. Pitches are marked out for all small-size pitches, to suit todays football development ethos. Satellite pitches are also used by the club at Osborne Road, Titchfield Recreation Ground and Hook with Warsash School, a few hundred metres from New Road. The club now has a large number of highly qualified coaches, many of whom who played for the club as young people, something the club is keen to continue. The club has worked very hard to become an F.A. Accredited Level 2 club. Warsash Wasps SFC has a strong community presence, participating in local events, and organising charity fund-raising events. Warsash Wasps SFC aim to provide the opportunity to all, of playing football in a well organised, safe and competitive framework. For the last 45+ years, many have benefited, not just in football ability, but also social and competitive life skills.
